How to use it
- Open your photo and choose Restore, then turn on the red-eye fix.
- Zoom in if the faces are small, and click the centre of each red pupil.
- Press Done (or Esc) when finished. Undo takes back the last fix.
Why you click instead of auto-detect
Automatic red-eye detection regularly mistakes red lips, clothing, lights and flowers for eyes. Pointing at each eye takes a second and only ever changes the spot you chose.
Why red-eye happens
A flash close to the lens lights up the back of the eye, and in dim rooms the pupils are wide open, so the red reflection is large. Old compact cameras and film flash photos suffer from it most.
